Romeo & What´s Her Name
Hey guys,
Here I am another Wednesday and today I am bringing you review of a book
that I read almost a month ago, but that I really enjoyed. And I really need to
tell you all about it because I think you will all really like it. Romeo &
What´s her Name it´s a very cute contemporary.
I got and ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review and so I
will like to start this review by thanking both NetGalley and the publisher for
giving me a copy of this wonderful book.
Let me start this review by saying that this book is one of the best
contemporary books I have read in a while. Usually when reading contemporary I
miss all the fun, but this book is all about it and I love it. Not that I have
only loved it because of the fun, there is much more to it.
As in many contemporaries the world building is not excessive as it´s not necessary. However, there is a very good
use of the space and the descriptions are really good. You can imagine some
specific details in which could have been very common surroundings.
The thing that I have liked the most about Romeo & What´s Her Name was Emily, the main character. She
is gloriously funny and really relatable. I highly identified with her as I am
clumsy and tend to create awkward situations without intending it. I think she
is so likeable because she is “not putting effort” in being likeable but she is just herself. I
mean she is putting the effort to have Wes liking her, but it seems that they
bound the most in those moments in which she is not trying and just being
herself.
The writing style was
really absorbing and got me in the very first pages. Being inside Emily´s head was really fun and perfect for the
rhythm of the story. Also, the amazing side characters help a lot to make the
plot flow smoothly.
I really enjoyed this
book and will highly recommend it to everyone who loves a romcom. I know this
review is shorter than the average I post, but the book was also short.
Overall, I gave it 5
out of 5 start because for what it was it was perfectly executed. And seriously
guys, this read is the perfect one if you need to get out of a reading slump
and if you feel like you need to read something that is slightly litter than
your latest read. In case it was perfect cause I just read it after finishing
1984 by George Orwell which as you might know is a heavy read that requires a
lot of attention. SO really guys, go and read Romeo &What´s Her Name because you won´t regret it.
Have you read this
book already? If so, which are your thoughts? If not, will you be reading it?
