Chain of Gold

Image

Again but Better

Hey guys! I am definitely on my way to be a consistent bilingual blogger. Cmon I have been posting in English for three weeks in a row now. I was planning on bringing another review for today, but the thing is that I finish this book earlier than the other one and I like my review to be posted in order; meaning that you get the review in the order that I finish the book unleash is something that I need to post right away, but will see about that.  So for those of you who know me I am pretty sure that you are aware that one of my favorite BookTubers is Christine Riccio. For those of you who don’t know me that well, now you know that I really like Christine. In fact I was quite happy to see that she had come up with a book and that she was going to be a published author. So nothing that I say in this review has noting to do with me not liking her or whatever is just my honest and raw opinion.  Let's jump into it, and please be calm because this will be a spoiler fre...

The Novice

Image
Hey guys! I am back and so are English reviews. Today's review its about a book that I loved and that highly recoment. I have been raving non-stop on Instagram and even got Erin from @the.word.traveler to buy the book because of my crazy fingerling. I will be talking about The Novice by Taran Matharu who seems to be pretty nice guy as he liked and commented on one of my instagram post.  I picked this book up because I am participating in a month along redathon in which by reading books that are part of a series you get more points than reading stand alones, so this was a pretty good way off getting as many points as possible for my team. I certainly was not expecting to like this book as much as I did. But those kind of suprises are always welcome.  The Novice tells the story of Fletcher an orphan boy who has been raised by the blacksmith of the town. He is given a book and he discovers the has the ability to summon demos, but as his first summoning doesn't go as...

The Unhoneymooners

Image
¡Hola!

City of Thieves

Image
¡Hola! Fu...

Tell Me No Lies

Image
Hey guys! It´s Monday and so I am writing a new post and once more is about that I was highly anticipating: Tell Me No Lies by A.V. Geiger. I got an ARC of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. So first, I would like to thank both the publisher and NetGalley. As far as the book goes, I must say I was highly anticipating this book ever since I finished the first book, Follow Me Back, some month ago. I love this story because today is way too relatable and I highly recommend it. Before I start the review, I would like to say that this will be a spoiler free review with regard to Tell Me No Lies but as this is the second instalment in the series, the review will most likely contain spoilers regarding the first book. In case you haven’t read the first book just yet I recommend you do it and in case you are interested, you can check my review by clicking here. And now that everything is clear, let’s just start to talk about what we all have been waiting...

Our Dark Duet

Image
Hey guys! If last week I was talking a book that I highly enjoyed this week is the turn to talk about a boot that disappointed me: Our Dark Duet by V.E. Schwab. This is by no mean a bad book is just that when compare to the first book in the duology this book is shit. I am sorry for the rude expression but it ´ s true. As per usual this will be a spoiler free review but as it ´ s the second book in the duology you might find some spoilers regarding This Savage Song; if you have yet to read that one check out my review by clicking here . If I need to make a spoiler related to Our Dark Duet it will be warned in advance and written in white so if you want to read it is because you make the choice. Our Dark Duet starts six months after the events of This Savage Song. Kate is living on her ow haunting monsters in Prosperity while August is dealing with the consequences of the events of the first book. But when Kate discovers that a new monster call The Chaos Eater is heading t...

It

Hey guys! How is everything working out so far in 2018? I hope you are doing well. Today I am here to talk about a book which I was dying to read but that unfortunately disappointed me. Set book is It by Stephen King. The story takes place in a little town called Derry. This town is violent, really violent; and there are some periods in which that violence goes even higher, that happens when It comes from wherever he is sleeping. The thing is that a group of kids decides to stop It and this is their story. I read this book back in November and I took me 15 days to read it, because, lets be honest: this book is huge. I don´t know how it is with the English edition but in the Spanish edition there is 1504 pages. The length was one of the things that intimidated me the most, but at the end I ended up picking this book up and somehow, I regret it. I am going to start by talking about the things that I did enjoyed about this book, and then I will go over the negative aspect...

The Book Thief

Image
Hey guys! I am here again willing to tell you all my thought about a new book. Today I will be talking about The Book Thief, a book that unfortunately disappointed me. I was expecting so much from this book because all the hype that it has, but it was not a book for me. I consider this novel to be just “meh”. The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak was published back in 2005. And as I have just said I have high expectations for this book and the reality didn’t live up to those. I found some great things in the book and some that are not so great. I mean I only really enjoyed the last 100 pages, meaning that my obsession with no leaving books in the middle is justified. This story takes place during the Second World War and we follow Liesel a little girl that moves into a little town near München. She lives with a family that adopted her. During the novel we follow the live of the characters and I don’t want to tell much more: first because there is no much left to tell and second...

Romeo & What´s Her Name

Image
Hey guys, Here I am another Wednesday and today I am bringing you review of a book that I read almost a month ago, but that I really enjoyed. And I really need to tell you all about it because I think you will all really like it. Romeo & What ´ s her Name it ´ s a very cute contemporary. I got and ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review and so I will like to start this review by thanking both NetGalley and the publisher for giving me a copy of this wonderful book. Let me start this review by saying that this book is one of the best contemporary books I have read in a while. Usually when reading contemporary I miss all the fun, but this book is all about it and I love it. Not that I have only loved it because of the fun, there is much more to it.   As in many contemporaries the world building is not excessive as it ´ s not necessary. However, there is a very good use of the space and the descriptions are really good. You can imagine some specific de...

The Queen of the Tearling

Image
Hey guys, Today I am bringing you the review of one of the books that I rea don February. It ´ s obvious that as I only post once a week the reviews come a little bit late, but the point is that they arrive sooner or later and because I took notes I have everything really fresh and ready to review. The Queen of the Tearling was a Christmas present from my Godparents and I was looking forward to read this book. I had seen many review and thanks to those I figurate it out that The Queen of the Tearling is one of those books that you will love or hate, there is no in between. Except maybe in my case, you know I like to go against everyone. This will be a spoiler free review so you can keep reading until the end. The Queen of the Tearling narrates the story of Kelsea, the queen of the Tearling, who has been hiding until her 19 th birthday. During all this time the Tearling has been ruled by a regent. Now Kelase goes back to the capital to be crowned Queen of the Tearlin...

Endgame. The Calling

Image
Hello Everyone, I still have books that were given to me for my birthday to read and to review. So here is one of them that actually was a re-read for me, and actually I enjoyed more than the first time I read it. But enough about me rambling and let´s go talking about that we all care about: books. So as you can see in the title of the review I am going to be talking about The Calling, the first book in the Endgame trilogy. And you can read the whole think because I am going to try to avoid making any spoiler. First of all to all those who are saying that this book is like the Hunger Games, you are right it has some similitudes but it also has some main differences. Starting with the fact that the narration is different and continuing with Sarah being so different from Katniss; Jago so different from Peeta; and Christopher so different from Gale. And the way the story evolves even with some similitudes is different. I like the way the story was told and being able to ...

One More Time

Image
Hello Everyone,  Last Friday I watched a movie because to be honest there was a long time since I last watched something on the Tv. I´ve been reading and studying like crazy because finals but finally my brain needed a break. So I decided to give it to him and watched a movie and since I´ve been meaning to watch One More Time for quite a while everything turn out just perfect. At first I thought the movie was based on a book but after some research I realized I hasn´t but any way since I bothered in taking notes while watching the movie to tell you about it I am not going to waist the work. Plus the movie is actually pretty cool. So we follow Jude who is a young woman, portrayed by Amber Heard. Jude is 30 and she wants to pursuit a career in the music but, she is not doing it mostly out of fear. She is been kicked out of her apartment but thankfully she had a trip back home planned. In her home we met her family in which everyone is kind of eccentric in their...

Me Before You

Image
To be honest i was really looking forward to read this book. I´ve had it since last summer but I haven´t found the time to read it until now. I wanted to read it before the movie comes out so now it was kind of mandatory to read it, mostly because I really want to see the movie… I mean Sam Claflin and Emilia Clarke, what else do you need to want to see the film? But that wasn´t the main reason why I purchased the book. I´ve read other book by Jojo Moyes and I really enjoyed, and as matter of fact I tend to be quite skeptical and I wanted to know if that book was an anomaly or just a prove of what a great author she was. For those who are wondering, it is the second one. A prove of how great she is as an author. I feel like I am rambling just a little too much, so without further do I am going to start talking about Me Before You. As I was saying because Jojo Moyes is such a great author I really enjoyed the style in which the book is written and it was such a quick read: I ...
