The Name of the Book

Anyone who seems to know me just a Little bit knows that I LOVE the Minions, those yellow, small and super cute creatures that when first met thanks to Despicable me; but that we all love just because. The thing is that as usually, I get the idea of for this tag at 5 a.m. when I was supposed to be sleeping. Before creating this tag I’ve been looking in case there was already a Minion Booktag, and I found something, at least in Spanish and because it was not similar to what I want to do I created this tag anyway. The idea of this tag is to choose some Minions and choose what book they will recommend regarding its personality. So without further do, let´s get started. Bob I´m not going to try to deny it. Ha sido una decepción como no me había llevado otra con un libro. ¿Cómo pueden cambiar tanto las cosas? Cualquier persona que se precie conocerme sabe que AMO a los Minions. Esas pequeñas criaturitas amarillas que conocimos gracias a Gru, pero que han conseguido enamorarnos a todos por méritos propios. Algunos de los que llevéis tiempo siguiendo el blog, puede que sepáis que me encanta Outlander, de hecho hice el Outlander Tag que podéis encontrar pinchando aquí. El caso es que el otro día mi padre me pidió que le acompañase a la librería a comprar un regalo y, yo “hice un esfuerzo sobre humano”  y le acompañé. Y me encontré con una copia de Forastera, el libro en el que está basada la serie y, que tanto tiempo llevaba buscando. En cuanto terminé el libro que estaba leyendo, no me esperé y,  empecé con Forastera que nos cuenta la historia de Claire Randall. Esta mujer viaja a Escocia en una especia de segunda luna de miel con su marido, para de alguna manera conocerse el uno al otro tras los sucesos de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Por una extraña casualidad encuentran un círculo de piedras y cuando Claire vuelve a buscar una planta se ve arrastrada 200 años en el tiempo a las Highlands escocesas. This is the first book I read by Kit Morgan and I was so entertaining while reading it. It has taken me longer than expected to read it, but it was because I have no time, work is killing me. So for starters I will say that one of the things that I have enjoyed the most was how the story was told.  El libro secreto de Ascalón se ha colado entre mis favoritos.  Los primero que quiero decir es: GRACIAS MAMI por comprarme libros buenos. Lo segundo que tengo que decir es: ¿cómo no vais a querer comprar un libro con un portada tan bonita como esta? Como podéis ver hasta Bob adora la portada y a él también le ha encantado la historia.  El libro secreto de Ascalón es una novela histórica ambientada desde 1066 hasta 1168; sin embargo, los sucesos principales suceden entre 1096 y 1099. No tengo muy claro el grado de fidelidad a la historia, porque aunque la Edad Media es un periodo que me fascina y las historias sobre los cruzados lo hacen aún más, no es un periodo que se estudie de manera detenida en clase. Dicho eso y, dejando a un lado la fidelidad que tenga o no el libro para con la historia hay hechos que sí concuerdan con los conocimientos genéricos del periodo. Ok. I think need a month to process all the feeling that I’ve got right now. As I am writing this I’ve just finished  Sky Key by James Frey and I am amused how great he did it despite the fact that I was in kid of a reading slump while reading it, and that the slump was caused mostly because the rhythm of the book. But those las 80 pages really make you forget about everything and just enjoy all the action. This review will contain some spoilers from The Calling the first novel in the Endgame trilogy. So if you haven´t read that one, you can check my review by clicking here and decide whether you will like to read it or not. But in my opinion this book is worth your time. Sky Key takes place a few days after the events that lead to the finding of the Earth Key. So we can see how all the players that are left are affected by those events.
