The Name of the Book

I´ve known for a while that Diana Gabaldon is one hell of a writer but after reading voyager I am more sure of it, if that´s even possible. Writing one good book is hard, writing to good books harder… Three within the same saga is a charm. I know that there is a huge number of good sagas but let´s be honest, if it was easy all of us will be published authors. Before I go on with the review I am warming you: this review will be spoiler free regarding the third book but it may contain some spoilers from the previous books. Que Diana Gabaldon es una buena escritora es una cosa que tenía clara, pero que tras leer Viajera se ha reafirmado aún más si cabe. Escribir un libro bueno, es una cosa bastante difícil, escribir dos… Pero tres, de una misma saga, es una cosa increíble. Sí, ya sé que hay muchas sagas muy buenas pero, la verdad es que solo hay un puñado de escritores, si fuera una cosa sencilla sería algo que todos haríamos. Antes de seguir con la reseña aviso de que aunque no contendrá spoilers del propio libro sí que lo hará de los dos anteriores, de manera que si no los habéis leído os recomiendo que leáis mis reseñas de Forastera y Atrapada en el Tiempo (a las que podéis acceder pinchando en el titilo de cada uno de los libros) y, por supuesto que leáis los libros. Hello guys, This might be the last post for a while. I am moving to Germany and I don´t know how long is going to take me to settle thing up. Let´s hope won´t take long but, any way let´s go for the thing we are all interested in: books. Today I am going to be talking about the second book in the Outlander series: Dragonfly in Amber. I am warning you that it would be spoiler free if you have read or watched the first season of the show, otherwise you will be spoiled. Diana Gabaldon puso el listón muy alto con el primer libro de la seria Claire Randall y, la verdad es que con el segundo o subió aún más. Esta autora ha sido capaz de crear una ficción única, mezclando algunos elementos de fantasía, con mucha ficción histórica y unos personajes increíbles, haciendo que no podamos hacer otra cosa que devorar un libro tras otro. Esta es una reseña sin spoilers de Atrapada en el Tiempo, pero os vais a encontrar con bastantes spoilers de Forastera , el primer libro de la saga, de manera que si no habéis leído el libro o visto la primera temporada de la serie, os recomiendo que paréis de leer esta reseña y, si estáis interesados en el tema, leáis mi reseña de Forastera (que podéis encontrar pinchando en el título del libro). Al contrario de lo que cabría esperar, este mes de Julio no he leído tanto como me gustaría haberlo hecho. Pensaba que el trabajo me iba a quitar bastante menos tiempo pero me quita más del esperado y, en el poco tiempo libre que tengo estoy tan cansada que me dedico a dormir lo quiera o no. De manera que durante este mes de Julio he leído un total de 8 libros, como si estuviera en época de exámenes. Para ser fieles ala verdad fue una grata sorpresa porque recordaba un poco del libro, pero no recordaba que me hubiese gustado tanto. 5 estrellas para un libro, que bien podría ser una conclusión por su final cerrado, pero que sin embargo no lo es y, simplemente es el comienzo de algo más largo. Hello Everyone, Today I thought it would be a good idea to talk about Outlander. Why you might be asking yourself. Well because I finally found the first book ad read it. If you have been here for a while, then you might know that I love the TV show. I even did the Outlander Tag a while ago (you can check it by clicking here ). So when my dad ask me to go with him to the book store to buy a present for one of his friends and I found this little baby (please note that if this book is anything, is not little, at all). So my dad saw how happy I was for founding it and was nice enough to buy me the book. To tell you a bit about the plot I will give you a brief summary. Claire Randall is telling her story; she is a World War II nurse who is in her second honey moon in Scotland with her husband Frank. Algunos de los que llevéis tiempo siguiendo el blog, puede que sepáis que me encanta Outlander, de hecho hice el Outlander Tag que podéis encontrar pinchando aquí. El caso es que el otro día mi padre me pidió que le acompañase a la librería a comprar un regalo y, yo “hice un esfuerzo sobre humano”  y le acompañé. Y me encontré con una copia de Forastera, el libro en el que está basada la serie y, que tanto tiempo llevaba buscando. En cuanto terminé el libro que estaba leyendo, no me esperé y,  empecé con Forastera que nos cuenta la historia de Claire Randall. Esta mujer viaja a Escocia en una especia de segunda luna de miel con su marido, para de alguna manera conocerse el uno al otro tras los sucesos de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Por una extraña casualidad encuentran un círculo de piedras y cuando Claire vuelve a buscar una planta se ve arrastrada 200 años en el tiempo a las Highlands escocesas. Junio llega a su fin, por suerte. La verdad es que ha sido un mes duro porque no he podido leer tanto como hubiera querido porque he tenido que estar estudiando, así que creo que todos podréis haceros a la idea de por qué estoy tan feliz de que el mes haya acabado. Como podéis imaginaros aunque haya leído bastante no he leído tanto como acostumbro. Me he quedado en 8 libros, que podrían llegar a ser 9 si tuviera tiempo, pero tengo un día muy ocupado y, el  mes se acaba hoy. Hello Everyone, Have I ever told you how much I love Cassandra Clare books? I think I have, but in case I haven´t let me tell you. Cassandra Clare is such an amazing writer that handles to create a book better than the previous one when I thought that wasn´t possible. I was really excited to read Lady Midnight, and it didn´t disappoint. It shows so clearly the progression of Cassandra Clare as a writer. The world building was less important so she could focus in the characters, their development and the story, which was so rich and full of turns that will shocked you. Certainty I was shock. The story is so entertaining. I was compelled to keep reading for the very first page until the last one. And there was a short story about Claire and Jace and all of the characters of The Mortal Instruments series. I won´t say that much because I don´t want to spoil anything.
