Why romanticise what is not romantic?

Image
Hey guys! I have been wondering this for quite a while now. I really don ’ t get it so I am asking you and the authors around to see if I finally get an answer to my question: “ Why authors want to romanticise situations that are not romantic at all? ” . No but seriously, why. I have been a reader for quite a while and I have read many books. And I have come to the conclusion that often situations that are not cool are presented as if they were for the sake of a plot-line. Maybe if those situations were treated in a different way they could have been way cooler than they were. There are two types of truisms that are often make look as romantic that I cannot particularly stand: sickness and abusive relationships. I am not saying that those elements cannot be present in a story as a part of a plot or, be the central part of a plot: they can and when well used can create an amazing story. But often they are not used in a nice way. Abusive relationships are not ok; I don ...

Me Before You

To be honest i was really looking forward to read this book. I´ve had it since last summer but I haven´t found the time to read it until now. I wanted to read it before the movie comes out so now it was kind of mandatory to read it, mostly because I really want to see the movie… I mean Sam Claflin and Emilia Clarke, what else do you need to want to see the film? But that wasn´t the main reason why I purchased the book. I´ve read other book by Jojo Moyes and I really enjoyed, and as matter of fact I tend to be quite skeptical and I wanted to know if that book was an anomaly or just a prove of what a great author she was. For those who are wondering, it is the second one. A prove of how great she is as an author. I feel like I am rambling just a little too much, so without further do I am going to start talking about Me Before You. As I was saying because Jojo Moyes is such a great author I really enjoyed the style in which the book is written and it was such a quick read: I ...

Hello Everyone, Considering that I´ve got finals this month I´ve read a ton. I´ve read a total of 15 books; so without further do let´s get started . The Young Elites byMarie Lu This is the first book I read this month and I wrote a full review (which you can see by clicking on the title). The Young Elites was that kind of books that takes you to places you weren´t expecting to go at all and I think that´s the main reason why I liked that much. As I´ve just said there is a review uploaded so check that one out if you are interested because I think that it´s al said when I told you that I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars. The Axeman´s Jazz by Ray Celestin I was really looking to read this book. I loved mystery books and I am very intrigue with the whole serial killer thing. As a matter of fact, if I wasn’t studying finances I will be studying criminology or something related with it. The book has a very interesting premise but the author fails at telling the st...
