The Name of the Book

Otro mes llega a su fin y, casi otro año. Pero otra reseña del club de lectura llega con ello. La lectura elegida para este mes fue Harry Potter y la piedra filosofal. Y, como no podía faltar aquí os dejo la reseña de Noe del blog Entre Páginas y Letas y, aquí tenéis nuestra reseña conjunta en Between the Pages of the Lost Library. He releído Harry Potter otras veces, porque es que es un libro que me encanta y, como ya dije en el HarryPotter Tag es una parte intrínseca de mí como lectora. Fue el primer libro “grande” que leí. Sin embargo, esta es la primera vez que he leído el libro con un ojo más crítico y, la verdad es que una vez más me he dado cuenta de lo maravillosa que es la historia del niño que sobrevivió. Como supongo que todos sabéis (en caso de que no hacerlo, ¿dónde habéis estado durante los últimos 15 años?), la piedra filosofal es la primera entrega de la saga y, en ella conocemos a los protagonistas de la saga y, somos introducidos al universo mágico. Aunque esta reseña llega un poco tarde por mi absoluta falta de tiempo, no quería no hablar de este libro, porque la verdad es que estaba como loca por leerlo: llevaba esperándolo desde que lo anunciaron. Aunque intentaré que haya pocos spoilers y, si los hay, avisare de ello, para que quienes quieran leer el libro sin ningún conocimiento lo sepa; en esta reseña habrá spoilers de los 7 anteriores libros de Harry Potter. La verdad es que como ya he dicho estaba deseando leer este libro, porque siempre tengo mono de Harry Potter, ¿qué le voy a hacer? Soy una yonkie. He leído algunas críticas muy malas y, he leído otras muy positivas. La verdad es que yo tiro más hacia los segundos, pero si bien es cierto que uno de los principales defectos que achacan los primeros a este libro, es cierto: es como un fanfiction, oficial sí, pero fanfiction al fin y al cabo. What is that thing that makes the difference between a good book and a great book? To be honest I don’t know but I am sure that it has to be something. Maybe is the writing or the way in which the story is told or maybe is because there are some people that are meant to be great writers as it is said in the Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair. There are some authors that may produce one great book in their career but there are others, just a few, that are able to create masterpiece after masterpiece and I think that the later one is going to be the case of Joël Dicker. And yes, I’ve only read one book by him and yet I dare to say that he is going to be an exceptional author. But let´s not talk about him but about his work. I´ve been hearing and reading such great reviews of this book; I was really looking forward to read it. Finally, in my birthday I got the book.
