The Last of August

Image
Hey guys! It´s Monday and that means that a new review is coming your way! Today I will be talking about one of my absolutes passions in life: Sherlock Holmes. In this case I will be talking about a retelling of the stories that Sir Arthur Connan Doyle. A few months ago, I read A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro and completely fell for the book. So, when my birthday came I could only ask for the next books in the series. Of course, as soon as the book came into the mail I had to read it as soon as I got it. A Study in August is the second instalment in the Charlotte Holmes series. So as this book is the second in a series this review might contain some spoilers regarding the first book. However, this will be a spoiler free review with regard of what happen in this book, so if you have read the first book you can safely read this review; if not you can read my review of a Study in Charlotte by clicking here.   The story starts a few weeks after we left in...

Fallen Kingdoms

Hey guys! Despite being Monday here I am. Today I am bringing you a review of another fantasy novel, because I love fantasy. Some Book Hauls ago I mention that my got the first book in the Fallen Kingdom Series and I was dying to read it. The thins is that despite me reading this book a few moons ago the review if only reaching you now, because I read too much and only post once a week. Fallen Kingdoms is the first book in a series written by Morgan Rhodes, and as I have already said it ´ s a fantasy book. It follows several characters and somehow the lives of all of them are connected. There are 3 kingdoms that are in some short of cold war but when I nobleman kills a peasant the real war began, and two of the three kingdoms form an alliance to make the other one fall. This novel it ´ s interesting and the plot is nice. However, I found that this book has not rhythm at all. The book is entertaining, I mean I read it in a couple of days, but the beginning was kind of borin...

This Savage Song

Hey guys! Here I am, another Monday and I am willing to bring you a new review. Today I will be talking about a book that I have been meaning to read for the longest time. It ´ s a book by an author that I have only heard wonderful things about and I am happy I have finally picked one of her books, especially considering that I have 5 out of 6 of them. Today I will be talking about This Savage Song by V.E. Schwab. As I was saying this is a book that I have been meaning to read for quite a while now. I keep seeing it on BookTube and in other bloggers blogpost and I haven ’ t heard nothing but great things about it. Plus, the premise of the book sounded interesting. As I am writing this post I am currently reading the second book in the duology and I must confess that I am not looking it as much as the first one but still is a god book. This savage song is a book that I do not know in which genre belongs. I would say is a mix of fantasy and dystopia. The story takes place in...

The Book Thief

Image
Hey guys! I am here again willing to tell you all my thought about a new book. Today I will be talking about The Book Thief, a book that unfortunately disappointed me. I was expecting so much from this book because all the hype that it has, but it was not a book for me. I consider this novel to be just “meh”. The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak was published back in 2005. And as I have just said I have high expectations for this book and the reality didn’t live up to those. I found some great things in the book and some that are not so great. I mean I only really enjoyed the last 100 pages, meaning that my obsession with no leaving books in the middle is justified. This story takes place during the Second World War and we follow Liesel a little girl that moves into a little town near München. She lives with a family that adopted her. During the novel we follow the live of the characters and I don’t want to tell much more: first because there is no much left to tell and second...

A Poison Dark and Drowning

Image
Hey guys! A few weeks ago, you had my review of A Shadow Bright and Burning by Jessica Cluess and i think that is only fitting if you have now my review of the second book in the trilogy: A Poison Dark and Drowning. This will be a spoiler free review but as this is the second book in the series you might find some spoilers regarding the first boo. If you haven’t yet read A Shadow Bright and Burning I will recommend for you to check my review of that one (which you can do by clicking here ) and of course to read the book because is amazing. If I need to make a spoiler just because I really need to get something out of my chest, it will be warm before the spoiler appears and it will be written in white so you will only read the spoiler if you really want to do so. A Poison Dark and Drowning was, if is even possible, better than the first instalment in the series. We take of a few months after all the events in the first book and the life have change in a significant way to ...

Follow Me Back

Image
Hey guys! I know today is not my regular posting day but I really need to come and tell you all about this book because it´s honestly one of the best books I have read in a while. And I seriously recommend it, and that´s a lot coming from me because I usually run away for every single Wattpad related story and this one started in there. I am talking about Follow Me Back by A.V. Geiger. I read this book this weekend, and trust me when I tell you that for the last two weeks it´s been almost impossible for me to read as I am remodelling my room. Next weekend it will all be done but for now I only have a bed and a computer. And I haven’t been staying at my home this weekend I have been at my aunties with my cousins and it was all about that Jazz. So, before I start to actually talk about the book I will like to thank SOURCEBOOKS Fire for giving me a copy of this book through NetGalley. First things first, when I first enter this book I was hoping to find one thing, then w...

Today I will be talking about Gemina, and before I keep going on with my review I will like to thank to Evelina from Avalinah´sBooks (you can check her amazing blog by clicking here ) for recommending me to read the Illuminae Files series. As I told you when I posted the review of Illuminae I have been meaning o read this series for quite some time but I end up postponing it for different reasons. Finally, I asked for this book in my name´s day and this August I read the two in the series that are already published. Before I go on I will say that this will be a spoiler free review, but as this is the second instalment in the series you might find some spoilers regarding book one. In case you haven´t read Illuminae yet, I will recommend checking my review of that on by clicking here .  In case I feel the need to do a spoiler in this review it will be warned and write in white so you can avoi...
